Student Lending Works Hires Industry Leaders To Head College Lending And Education Programs In Ohio
CINCINNATI—Student Lending Works (www.StudentLendingWorks.org), the designated nonprofit provider of student loan products for the State of Ohio, has hired Sandy Baker-Evans and Marnie Roberts as their new Lender Representatives in Ohio. Baker-Evans and Roberts will lead all lending activities for Student Lending Works (SLW), including the organization's Lending and Education Program to kick off at Ohio college campuses beginning this spring. Collectively, the two bring more than 40 years of experience in the financial industry to SLW.
Baker-Evans joined Student Lending Works in 2005 to help build a state-of-the-art call center that supports counseling and loan origination, customer service, and sales and marketing initiatives launched for the State of Ohio and national programs. In her new role, Baker-Evans will build the campus-based programs, developing strategy, marketing campaigns, campus relationships, affinity group relationships, services, and products. Prior to starting with SLW, Baker-Evans spent her career working with AES/PHEAA, Charter Account Systems and Student Loan Funding. She has conducted workshops and financial aid seminars throughtout the state, and has been an active member of Ohio's Admissions and Financial Aid organizations. She is also one of the founding members of the Greater Cincinnati College Access Network (GCCAN).
Roberts began with Student Lending Works in January 2006. In her new role, she will help build the campus-based programs. Prior to working at SLW, Roberts worked as a financial aid administrator, and assisted students while working for a college access program. More recently, she has been an account executive for Charter One Bank, where she was responsible for creating, building and maintaining business relationships in an emerging market with colleges and universities in Ohio. Roberts is also an active member of the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA), having served as Secretary, as well as on several committees, including the Executive Committee, College Goal Sunday, Need Analysis, and Conference Planning. She has also represented OASFAA as a trainer for the National Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators.
"We're excited to have such experienced and dedicated professionals join our team," said Jeff Wallace, Student Lending Works' Director of Marketing and Operations. "We know they will help Student Lending Works deliver the information and education Ohio's students and parents need to hear in order to lead successful lives and careers both during and after college."
