Student Lending Works "Gotchas" Guide in High Demand
College Students can get a free copy of this informative how-to guide
CINCINNATI, OHIO - Student Lending Works, the State of Ohio’s designated nonprofit provider of student loan products, is experiencing heightened demand for its Consolidation Survival Guide, otherwise referred to as the “Gotchas Guide,”, an informative guide that alerts students to the various ways discounts can be lost when consolidating their student loans. Since April, more than 5,000 copies of the Guide have been requested by students and parents across Ohio.
"A 'gotcha' refers to a disadvantageous term or condition that is designed to sneak past the student," stated Jeff Wallace, Student Lending Works Director of Operations. "Student Lending Works has searched through the pages of various lenders’ Web sites looking through the fine print to find the gotchas to incorporate into our Guide. Many times, students have alerted us to the gotchas."
This spring, Student Lending Works began distributing free Consolidation Survival Guides to colleges statewide. The Guide, officially titled Consolidation Survival: Tips to Manage Your Student Loan Debt, can be downloaded absolutely FREE.
The free Consolidation Survival Guide advises students on how to most effectively identify and avoid loan gotchas when shopping and signing up for a Federal consolidation loan. The Guide supports Student Lending Works’ nonprofit mission to provide valuable, timely, and accurate information and resources to assist borrowers in making well-founded student loan finance decisions.
