Free copies to be provided to high school students starting in December.
COLUMBUS, OH – High school students no longer need to feel overwhelmed about transitioning into the college experience, thanks to a new partnership between Student Lending Works and a helpful new book—Getting to the Quad™.
This is the second guide produced by Student Lending Works (SLW) and Michael Bergman, the creator of Getting to the Quad. Last year, Bergman and Student Lending Works launched Graduate Survival Guide, a resource for recent college graduates. The Getting to the Quad guide turned out to be a true collaborative effort between high school students from across the country, professional admissions consultants, and faculty and staff from New York University, Georgia Tech University, Emory University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Georgia State University.
“Our hope with this new book is to make the experience of going from high school to college less overwhelming,” said Jeff Wallace, Director of Operations and Marketing for Student Lending Works. “High school students and parents will find tips for everything from scheduling college visits, dealing with roommates, and eating right on campus to doing laundry, registering for classes, and understanding how to pay for college, a mounting concern for many high school seniors.“
Available on Amazon.com for $14.95, students can save this cost by requesting a free copy or by picking one up at their high school guidance office, where SLW will be distributing copies of the guide. Copies of the Graduate Survival Guide are also available through Amazon.com and Student Lending Works.
In December, the book will also be available on the newly launched www.Getting ToTheQuad.com. The Web site will include many interesting features, such as book excerpts, and a message board where students and parents can ask important questions and get feedback and tips. The Web site hopes to create a community where high school students and parents can share their goals and concerns, and offer advice to other students.
