Loan Forgiveness
In certain situations you may qualify to have your federal student loans forgiven. For example, there are federal loan forgiveness programs for military service, teaching or practicing medicine in certain communities, or doing volunteer work. Keep in mind, each loan forgiveness program will have its own list of special requirements. For instance, some loan forgiveness programs require 5 or 10 years of service in order to qualify. Make sure you meet all the requirements before planning to have your loans forgiven.
